Things to look out for in 2011

2010 has been a year of sports... FIFA world cup, Commonwealth games and Asian games being the most memorable. But The grandest event with respect to Indian youth - ICC WORLD CUP in gonna happen in 2011!!
India is one of the top teams in the cricket world and Australia has lost its sheen. South Africa looks great in form and are very dangerous. we still remember the humiliation with the loss to Bangladesh in the previous world cup. so its better not to be over confident with the minnows. they may strike any time. we also have chennai open, the only ATP event held in India in the second week of January.
there are lots of movies which are slated for release in 2011. the much hyped dhobi ghat is going to be released in January. rajni's hara which is supposed to be a 3d film is going to be released in the mid-2011. i am happy that hara is released just few months after robot. usually rajni gives a break of 2-3 years before releasing his next film. we also have don2 and the much hyped ra.one, starring  SRK as a super hero in this film. the most remarkable part of ra.one is about akon's music in it.
we have IPL4 this year with 10 teams..!! we have to wait and watch how it turns over. IPL auctions are to be held in Bangalore in January which will see strength of the two new ipl teams as most of the senior players except Rahul Dravid and Ganguly have been retained by their former franchise.  i hope this year will unfold many suspenses and surprises as once again this year will turn out to be the most important year for the students appearing for board exams,JEE, AIEEE  etc., as it will be the deciding factor for their future role.
so lets welcome the year 2011 with josh. Taking new year resolutions are a habit which are supposed to be strictly followed for a day or two and then diluted to our convenience. so Happy New Year 2011 everybody!!

In the last few days,the Congress party is specifically targeting Hindus with their insensitive statements hurting the Hindu sentiments. If they are a secular party, then why should they bat for minorities?They are still under the notion that the word 'secular' in India means anything except Hinduism. if they are really a secular party then they must preserve the rights of Hindus too. they must work for the people in general and not based on their religion.
Rahul Ghandi proudly told the US envoy that saffron terror is more dangerous than the world famous LeT!! as if the US authorities don't know LeT!! A lesser known person called Digvijay Singh also spoke his heart against Hinduism and RSS....!! Thanks to that hate speech, he is universally famous. It has become a trend to speak bad of our country or religion to gain popularity among these politicians. Will the minorities keep quiet if their religion is spoken in a bad light??.... it would cause riots and more...!! The casual attitude of Hindus has caught the attention of the congress party!!
According to my opinion, all the religions in India live with peace and harmony. But political parties create rifts between them for the sake of VOTES!!...VOTE BANK POLICIES!!.... and to help these 'secular' parties, many minority organizations tell their people to fight for their religion. They issue fatwas to encourage this trend. But what to do?.... Only Hindus have a casual attitude toward their culture and religion because of which political parties take advantage of this situation and sell our country to Pakistan, China and Sri Lanka...If the people get angry they gift them color television sets and rice at rs.2/kg. People fail to understand the reason behind these schemes.

 
A samajwadi party person said that congress has only one Muslim candidate[nabi azad] who is from kashmir and not from india. What does this mean?? does Kashmir belong to Pakistan?? even if it is liberated from india, i am 100% sure that it would support its accession to Pakistan. Kashmir was once a place with Kashmiri pundits who were great scholars. these honorable scholars are pushed out to make place for dishonorable terrorists who sneak into Kashmir from Pakistan.
When Tamils in sri lanka claimed the northern portion of the country, did the sri lankan government appoint interlocutors to investigate the matter?. sri lankan Tamils claimed that they came there before the Sinhalese [ i dond know whether its the truth] But the sri lankan government with the help of UPA finished off the ltte dominance exactly after UPA won the polls. do you know why? DMK was an alliance of congress. dmk promised freedom to Tamils during the polls. so after the dmk party won the polls, they never even spoke about the killing of the civilians during the war. Even today DMK is mum on the issue. What happened to their peomises before the elections?? Who cares??..........COLOR TV'S DELIVERED!! then why worry??.... even today the civilians are suffering.
When Rajapakse visited england, even foreigners joined the Tamil activist against him visit for his alleged war crimes!! But tamil nadu's CM welcomed him to visit and explore tamil nadu!! So this shows the attitude of politicians towards the people
why care about it??......color tv's delivered!!
When Sri Lanka fought against a terrorist outfit like ltte, why does India fear to fight those separatists who cause a lot of mayhem in India?? we should not give any options to them. we must say them to either live in India or live elsewhere. we should not encourage their views and the government must be stern in this regard.
otherwise like Nehru, who gave away our precious land to china[the kailash ranges and manasarovar lake which has a special meaning to Hindus] these people would make us part with Kashmir too.
our history teacher used to say that when the people returned from kailash ranges to India, the Chinese authorities would check their bags to find whether anyone has taken away the stone pieces which are said to be ores of gold. it is very shameful to give away our lord shiva's abode to an atheist country and wait for them to approve our visas to visit our own land. the same happens for manosarovar lake too
i want to ask who gave these politicians the authority to donate our land. is Kashmir their ancestral property?? or did they buy it?? to give away for political gains?? it is the property of Bharatha!! even if the people of India wish to give it away they cant. because it belongs to the mighty rulers who built Bharatha and the gods who bless our nation.

Regarding the Karnataka crisis, the government and the people wish to bring about a "anti-cow slaughter" law into force preventing the people from eating beef. The congress governor is again not passing the bill to support minorities. for them, the minority's luxury is more important than the majorities' sentiments!!
they should not forget that they are living in India, the place of the divine where they are supposed to respect all kinds of creature. But you can expect this from people who don't respect the human raced itself!!

Most of us would recognize the red, white & blue striped spinning barber shop pole, but do you know what those three colors represent? And do you know why many pawn shops display three golden balls in their window? Read on and see how much you know about the symbols of common professions and other organizations.


 The Marines
One branch of the U.S. Armed Forces uses an eagle, globe and anchor as its symbol: The Marines. As the official United States Marine Corps web site explains: "The eagle with spread wings represents our proud nation. The globe points to worldwide presence. The anchor stands for naval tradition. Together, they represent a dedication to service in the air, on land and at sea."




Pawnbrokers
The universal symbol for pawn shops is three balls suspended from a curved bar. The "three balls" were originally part of the coat of arms of the Medici family, who established the Medici trading and banking empire in Florence, Italy. Legend has it that one of the Medicis (in the employ of Emperor Charles the Great) fought a giant and slew him with three sacks of rocks. The three balls or globes later became part of their family crest, and ultimately, the sign of pawnbroking.

Dr. Blayney also points out that another traditional symbol of medicine is the staff of Asclepius (right). This symbol is a single serpent encircling a staff, classically a rough-hewn knotty tree limb. Asclepius was an ancient Greek physician deified as the god of medicine.


Wall Street
The bull and bear are two oft-used symbols of Wall Street. A "bear market" is known as a period of time in which the overall trend of the stock market is down. A "bull market" is a period in which the prices in the market rise overall. According to The Motley Fool, the term "bear market" may come from "bear skin jobbers," who sold bear skins before they caught the bears. This term eventually was used to describe short-sellers, who make money buying and selling shares that they don't own (they borrow them). Short-sellers profit when the price of their shares goes down. The theory further goes that since bear baiting and bull baiting were common sports, bull became the counterpart of bear. Others will say the term bear comes from the fact that bears swipe their paws down when fighting, whereas bulls swipe their horns up.


                                                  Firefighters
The Badge of a firefighter is called a Maltese Cross. The Maltese Cross is a symbol of protection and a badge of honor. The New York City Fire Department explains: The first firefighters were a band of crusaders known as the Knights of St. John. Their heroic efforts were recognized by fellow crusaders with a badge of honor -- a cross similar to the one firefighters wear today. Since the Knights of St. John lived on a little island in the Mediterranean Sea named Malta, the cross came to be known as the Maltese Cross.


Barbers
The red, white and blue stripes in the barber shop pole are meant to represent blood, bandages and veins. For thousands of years, barbers didn't just cut hair and shave beards -- they performed surgery, dentistry, and more.
These barber-surgeons, as they were known, practiced everything from tooth-extractions to bloodletting. After sopping up any blood with white cloths, the barbers would wash the cloths and hang them out to dry. This is what the pole's red and white colors signify. It is commonly accepted that the blue color represents veins.


                                                   Freemasons

What is 3g?
International Mobile Telecommunications-2000 (IMT—2000), better known as 3G or 3rd Generation, is a generation of standards for mobile phones and mobile telecommunications services fulfilling specifications by the International Telecommunication Union. Application services include wide-area wireless voice telephone, mobile Internet access, video calls and mobile TV, all in a mobile environment. Compared to the older 2G and 2.5G standards, a 3G system must allow simultaneous use of speech and data services, and provide peak data rates of at least 200 kbit/s according to the IMT-2000 specification. Recent 3G releases, often denoted 3.5G and 3.75G, also provide mobile broadband access of several Mbit/s to laptop computers and smartphones.

history of 3g
The first pre-commercial 3G network was launched by NTT DoCoMo in Japan branded FOMA, in May 2001 on a pre-release of W-CDMA technology. The first commercial launch of 3G was also by NTT DoCoMo in Japan on 1 October 2001, although it was initially somewhat limited in scope; broader availability was delayed by apparent concerns over reliability. The second network to go commercially live was by SK Telecom in South Korea on the 1xEV-DO technology in January 2002. By May 2002 the second South Korean 3G network was by KT on EV-DO and thus the Koreans were the first to see competition among 3G operators.

The first European pre-commercial network was at the Isle of Man by Manx Telecom, the operator then owned by British Telecom, and the first commercial network in Europe was opened for business by Telenor in December 2001 with no commercial handsets and thus no paying customers. These were both on the W-CDMA technology.

The first commercial United States 3G network was by Monet Mobile Networks, on CDMA2000 1x EV-DO technology, but this network provider later shut down operations. The second 3G network operator in the USA was Verizon Wireless in October 2003 also on CDMA2000 1x EV-DO. AT&T Mobility is also a true 3G network, having completed its upgrade of the 3G network to HSUPA.

The first pre-commercial demonstration network in the southern hemisphere was built in Adelaide, South Australia by m.Net Corporation in February 2002 using UMTS on 2100 MHz. This was a demonstration network for the 2002 IT World Congress. The first commercial 3G network was launched by Hutchison Telecommunications branded as Three in March 2003.

By June 2007, the 200 millionth 3G subscriber had been connected. Out of 3 billion mobile phone subscriptions worldwide this is only 6.7%. In the countries where 3G was launched first – Japan and South Korea – 3G penetration is over 70%.In Europe the leading country is Italy with a third of its subscribers migrated to 3G. Other leading countries by 3G migration include UK, Austria, Australia and Singapore at the 20% migration level. A confusing statistic is counting CDMA2000 1x RTT customers as if they were 3G customers. If using this definition, then the total 3G subscriber base would be 475 million at June 2007 and 15.8% of all subscribers worldwide.



Applications of 3g
The bandwidth and location information available to 3G devices gives rise to applications not previously available to mobile phone users. Some of the applications are:
Mobile TV – a provider redirects a TV channel directly to the subscriber's phone where it can be watched.
Video on demand – a provider sends a movie to the subscriber's phone.
Video conferencing – subscribers can see as well as talk to each other.
Tele-medicine – a medical provider monitors or provides advice to the potentially isolated subscriber.
Location-based services – a provider sends localized weather or traffic conditions to the phone, or the phone allows the subscriber to find nearby businesses or friends..


3g in India

In 2008, India entered into the 3G arena with the launch of 3G enabled Mobile and Data services by Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL) in Bihar (Patna). BSNL is the first Mobile operator in India to launch 3G services. Later, MTNL launched 3G in Mumbai & Delhi. Government owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) has already been provided with a 3G license and has been operating its services in 380 cities by the end of March 2010. Nation wide auction of 3G wireless spectrum in April 2010 was announced. The auction fetched huge sums of money for the Government of India, estimated to be around Rs 35,000/- Crore ($7.6 billion). The total revenue collected by the Government was nearly Rs 1,06,000 Crore ($23 billion). Private provider Tata Docomo has announced the services to be launched during Diwali Season in November 2010. Airtel and Vodafone expected to provide its 3G service from January 2011.

People watch channels like Zoom and programmes like Daily 10 to get their daily dose of gossips. They read magazines like Filmfare and StarDust for spicy gossips in written format. But now a news bulletin has entered the realm of gossip industry!!. More than gossips about the tinsel town, they wanna make more bucks over gossips about the common men. Did i say common men? yeah... you and me!! The daily activities of the people has become the latest news!! Its none but our famous Bangalore Mirror!! Now i understand why they advertise it as the ''other side of bangalore''!!
When people are smart, BM makes them fools. When people are good, BM makes them bad. this is the height of unprofessionalism. They hunt for gossips from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, but end up finding the gossips in the lanes and by lanes of our Bangalore!! I can give you a lot of examples where they have outraged the modesty of the fine people. 'Fine' includes highly educated, we laid and good hearted people. They don't even bother to verify the news and check the source. But instead they get the news published before someone proves that the news is incorrect!!.All they known is the new found technique of grabbing eyeballs!! But those eyes turn away as soon as the news is half-read!! Stiff they get addicted to it as if it is 'marijuana'!! But i must accept that gossips are more addictive than marijuana for the masses.!! They get into ''the other world'' through gossips!! I am not simply degrading this bulletin for no reason. Of course, my own articles have been published on this bulletin for many a times. I could blindly support this bulletin for that reason but i wont because i am neutral on my stand over BM. i don't care for what it did to me. But i am more bothered about what it is doing to others!! Once, they put up wallets everywhere and made people pick it up and published their pics on the page 1!! It is like FILMY Indian Police slipping '' ganja'' packets into the pockets of victims and picking them up for the possession of drugs!! Who knows, the people who picked up the wallet might have handed it to the nearest police station or donated it to the nearest temple!! Did BM expect everybody to ignore that wallet? The other day the front page article was about a teacher who did not accept a child's gift on the eve of teachers' day!! do you thing the news was so worthy to be put on the front page? i don't think the news deserved to be even on the most unnoticeable corner of the paper. will they publish such an article in TOI or HINDU?? i donut think so. to hype it further , the parents decided to take to matter to child rights commission!! Even my sister's teacher refused to accept her presents saying that the school doesn't allow teachers to receive presents, we just chucked the matter after frowning upon it!! 
But i also have to mention the good deeds done by BM. they have highlighted many social issues, helped many people, exposed the corrupt government officials, highlighted aspiring sportsmen/musicians/artists and to name many more......!! i am just pointing  out the other side of BM...!!
